THE ROLE
We are looking for a Junior Lawyer – Public Law who would like to become part of our team. Your focus will be on environmental law and planning.The role can either be based in Brussels or Antwerp. Our Belgian Public Law team is recognised as a top-tier team. Our ambition is to grow further and strengthen our position in the legal market. We are looking for a Junior Lawyer – Public Law with 1-2 years’ experience who would like to join our successful team.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
•Offer the entire scope of legal services to our clients with a focus on public law, administrative law, infrastructure & environmental law and planning
•Provide legal advice to our clients and involvement in litigation matters
•Further develop your skills as a lawyer and a strategic business advisor
•Be involved in contentious matters and court procedures before the Council of State, the Council for Permit Disputes, the civil courts and any other administrative or judicial court

SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES
•You have successfully obtained a Belgian Master’s degree in Law and can show evidence of an attractive academic track record
•You graduated before June 2018 or are graduating in June 2018, or you have 1 to 2 years' experience in public law
•A native Dutch speaker with excellent command of English and French (verbal and written)
•You possess excellent technical, legal and language skills
•The ambition and drive to help strengthen DLA Piper to become the leading environment and planning law firm in the Benelux
•Driven by quality and willingness to go the extra mile
•You are creative, well-organised, pro-active, flexible and a team player
•Accuracy, confidentiality and punctuality are second nature to you
